Duke is a recurring character in the Rock Chick Series.  He's an employee of Indy Savage at Fortnum's Bookstore and was a friend of her grandmother.  He does not enjoy the danger and mayhem involved in the courships, but he helps protect the Rock Chicks when they're in danger and acts as the voice of wisdom and truth at crucial points in the courtships.

"Duke’s a Harley man, all leather and denim and a big ole gray beard and loads of long, steel gray hair with a bandana tied around his forehead. He talks rough, lives rough and is tough as nails but can be soft as a marshmallow if he likes you (luckily, he likes me). He used to be an English Lit professor at Stanford before he dropped out and moved to the mountains. He’s married to Dolores who works part-time at The Little Bear up in Evergreen where Duke and Dolores own a tiny cabin." - (Indy POV) Ashley, Kristen (2011-03-04). Rock Chick (Kindle Locations 211-215).
"He had long, gray hair pulled back in a braid, a red, rolled bandana wrapped around his forehead and a thick gray beard. He had on a black, Harley Davidson, long-sleeved t-shirt over which he wore a black leather vest." - Ashley, Kristen (2011-03-14). Rock Chick Renegade (Kindle Locations 1243-1245).

"Duke was a Harley guy, long gray hair in a braid, thick gray beard, always wearing a black leather vest over a Harley shirt and a rolled, red bandana around his forehead. He was gruff with a velvet and stone Sam Elliott voice but he was a good guy." - Ashley, Kristen (2011-11-13). Rock Chick Reckoning (Kindle Locations 1580-1582).
